About

Shira Lichtenstein, LCSW

I graduated with a B.A., majoring in psychology and education. I went on to earn a Masters's degree in psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specializing in children and adolescents. In 2016, I was selected to participate in The Contextual Behavior Therapy Fellowship at The University of Chicago. During the same year, I joined the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and earned my second Masters's degree, this time focusing on social work. Currently, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), I specialize in perinatal mental health. In my free time, I enjoy walking, movies, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family.

Philosophy

I help my clients navigate the complexities of emotions and struggles that can arise during times of change. My role involves assisting clients in identifying, understanding, and overcoming the challenges they face in their day-to-day lives. Anchored Therapy is a safe space where clients can process and explore their deepest thoughts and beliefs, embracing all aspects of their identity. I guide clients through life's transitions by helping them tap into their internal resources. I genuinely believe that no matter what challenges you are currently facing, there is always a way forward, and together we will uncover yours.

“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”
