About
Shira Lichtenstein, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and trained in perinatal mental health and EMDR. In my free time, I enjoy walking, movies, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
Philosophy
I help my clients navigate the complexity of emotions and struggles that can come up during times of great change. I assist clients in identifying, understanding, and overcoming challenges they face in day to day life. Anchored Therapy is a space clients can process and explore their innermost thoughts and beliefs that welcomes all parts of their identity. As a trained mental health professional, I can help you navigate through life's transitions by helping you find your internal resources. I genuinely believe that no matter what challenges you are facing right now, there is always a way forward and together we will discover yours.
My Experience
I graduated college with a B.A. while completing a shaped major in psychology and education. I then earned a Masters in psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in children and adolescents. I also completed several advanced training courses in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
In 2016, I participated in The Contextual Behavior Therapy Fellowship at The University of Chicago. Later that year, I attended the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration where I earned my second Masters Degree, this time in social work.
